Position
Summary:
The Industrial Painter will be responsible for maintaining technical equipment for the job and ensuring that they are in working order, possessing a wide array of painting skills including metal work, prep, masking, sanding, and paint application utilizing a spray method and other duties as assigned.
This position will require the ability to operate forklifts to move and stage material for the production process.
Essential Functions:
Modification of metal components Drilling and tapping holes Painting steel castings Cleaning surfaces prior to spray painting Maintaining equipment for the outlined job and ensuring that they are in working order Ensuring that high safety standards are met and maintained Adhere to all OSHA and HazMat procedures with respect to the storage and handling of materials in the area Assist in the maintenance of a clean and safe work environment and observe good safety habits Utilizing different painting techniques based on the nature of the surface Using viscosity cups and thickness gauges to measure the amount of paint to be used and the texture of the paint Removing previous paint surfaces using mechanical means Painting small items and doing touch-ups Position Requirements:
High school diploma or GED Certifications for painting or body work or appropriate trade school certification (example-Master Collision Repair &Refinishing Technician) Experience painting a variety of surface types Proficiency with technical machinery Physical strength to operate machinery Diligence and attention to detail Excellent dexterity and hand-eye coordination Good organizational skills Good verbal communication Fabrication experience/skills required (welding / grinding/gauges) Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision Ability to troubleshoot paint defects that are outside the allowable QA standards A good problem-solving foundation Job Type:
