Hiring Agency Tourism, Arts, & Heritage Cabinet Kentucky Artisans Center at Berea Location 200 Artisan Way Berea, KY 40403 USA Description We are hiring! The Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea has an opening for a Retail Sales & Service Associate II.
Want to work in a gorgeous setting? Want to earn a great wage and be part of our team? The applicant for this position will:
Serve as shift lead for sales and service staff on duty.
Stimulate interest in and sell Kentucky artisan products in retail shop using computerized point of sales system.
Acquire skills and knowledge to provide accurate tourist and sales information relating to Kentucky artisans and their products.
Promote cultural heritage attractions, sites, events, and activities to visitors through conversations and printed materials.
Maintain assigned product and information areas including researching topics, monitoring inventory, and cleaning.
Assist with inventory processing, clerical, and other duties as assigned.
This position requires maturity, reliability, and self-discipline.
Minimum Requirements EDUCATION:
High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
One year of retail experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for
Experience:
NONE Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:
Experience working with the general public in a retail or tourism information setting will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two years.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.
):
NONE Working Conditions Work typically involves extensive contact with the public and interaction with other Artisan Center staff.
Probationary Period This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.
